Award for FLIP co-inventor

Crospon congratulates Dr. Barry McMahon, co-inventor of the functional lumen imaging probe (FLIP) measurement technique, on recently being presented an Award of Excellence for his research protocol "Measuring mechanical dysfunction of the esophagogastric junction by a distensibility technique using the functional lumen imaging probe" at the 10th OESO World Conference which took place in Boston from 28-31st August 2010.

The OESO conference, held by the World Organization for Specialized Studies on Diseases of the Esophagus, for the first time featured a session specifically dedicated to "Distensibility testing of the esophagus". In addition to Dr. McMahon's presentation, presentations on distensibility testing in different applications were also given by FLIP co-inventor Hans Gregersen (Aalborg), Monika Kwiatek PhD (Chicago), Silvana Perretta MD (Strasbourg), Satish Rao (Iowa) and Blair Jobe MD (Pittsburgh).
